Role OverviewThe School Monitor is responsible for monitoring student behavior, enforcing school rules, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves resolving conflicts, investigating complaints, and controlling traffic and parking on campus grounds. The School Monitor works closely with security personnel, DISD staff, students, parents, and community members to maintain a good working relationship and professional demeanor.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities of the School Monitor include monitoring student behavior, enforcing school rules, resolving conflicts, investigating complaints, controlling traffic and parking, and maintaining accurate records of registration. The School Monitor must also document and report vandalism, car accidents, and other irregularities, and prepare activity reports for theft.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or USA equivalency
- Six months of work-related experience
- Experience working with children, youth leadership, coaching, and/or counseling preferred
- Demonstrated ability to recognize public safety hazards
- Demonstrated ability to de-escalate conflict situations
- Knowledge of relevant security equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies
