Role Overview

The School Nurse provides medical care and services to students according to physician prescribed medical care and treatment orders. They are responsible for addressing medical emergencies, assessing circumstances, and resolving such according to established procedures and protocols.

What You Will Do

The School Nurse prepares medications, monitors and assists with insulin administration, performs tube feedings, and takes vital signs. They also maintain accurate records, ensure safe and sanitary conditions, and provide training and education to school staff.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in nursing, two years of previous nursing experience, and certification or eligibility for certification by the Florida State Department of Education. They must also possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Nursing license.
