Seasonal Road Maintenance Worker

This position is responsible for participating in the repair and maintenance of county roads. The work consists of related maintenance duties, and the employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. The employee will perform a variety of laboring tasks to repair and maintain county roads, including patching holes with asphalt, weed eating rights-of-way, collecting litter and debris, and operating a variety of equipment, tools, and vehicles.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
