Role OverviewThe Section 8 Specialist will determine the eligibility of applicants and participants for all programs administered by the Rental Assistance Department. The Specialist will provide support in various procedures relating to initial eligibility, initial lease-ups, re-examinations, transfers, terminations, and do related work as required.
What You Will Do
The Specialist will initiate processes for initial interviews, voucher issuance, initial lease-ups, re-examinations, and terminations. They will also explain policies and procedures to landlords, tenants, and applicants, and generate contracts and client information.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Behavioral Science or related field
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in affordable housing, property management or related field
- Must obtain program certification within twelve (12) months of hire date
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
