Role OverviewThe Identity and Access Management (IAM) Security team is seeking a Security Engineer to help protect and improve authentication and authorization across Amazon's Stores, Digital, and Other (SDO) organizations. You will work on difficult problems independently, influence service teams, and drive security outcomes across teams. Data-driven decisions are important to us, and you will draw heavily on your experience collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data to create compelling communications to peer teams and leadership.
What You Will Do
You will participate in architectural reviews and threat models for identity systems, develop and support requirements for Amazon's IAM security initiatives, improve access management infrastructure across a complex global environment, provide authN/authZ design review and threat modeling services across the enterprise, and implement and maintain automated security audits for identity workflows.

Requirements
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object-oriented language experience
- 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language (non-internship) experience
- 2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools (non-internship) experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and TCP/IP
- Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
