Job Description
The Security Officer position at the FAA post is responsible for providing security and to safeguard FAA employees, facilities, Government property and assets from loss, theft, damage, unauthorized use, criminal acts, espionage, sabotage and terrorism.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of security officer experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess or able to successfully obtain CPR, First Aid, Baton and OC spray certification, Handcuff and Defense Tactics and weapons qualification certifications
  • Be able to obtain an FAA Personal Identity Verification card (PIV)
  • Successfully pass all Personnel and Industrial Security Requirements such as Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) fingerprint check and Office of Personnel Management National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to be granted an interim suitability approval
  • State Issued Security Officer License
  • State Issued Firearm License
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of a H.S. Diploma or State Issued GED Required
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
  • Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures
  • Demonstrated strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures
  • Ability write and investigate required reports
  • Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions utilizing the FAA Security Officer Manual and ADC LTD NM and customer policy and procedures
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
