Security Officer 1

Requirements

• Enforce Security Department and Hospital policies with professionalism and respect
• Respond promptly to emergency situations
• Use proper etiquette and tone when communicating over radio and telephone systems
• Apply physical restraints as needed
• Perform vehicle jump starts and flat tire refills
• Monitor the hospital environment for safety concerns
• Conduct orderly traffic control to ensure safety on hospital premises
• Troubleshoot basic problems with security software and equipment
• Complete detailed incident reports accurately
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve potentially violent or confrontational situations
• Maintain composure during critical incidents and ensure protection of people and property
• Inspect and report damage or malfunction of hospital property in a timely manner
• Maintain Florida Security 'D' License and complete all required training and in-services
• Foster teamwork and cooperation with other officers and hospital staff
• Provide excellent customer service through courteous and professional interactions
• Provide observation of patients with responsibility to alert the nurse when intervention is needed and maintains confidentiality of patients per hospital policy
