Security Officer

As a Security Officer at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, you will provide protection to the hospital, patients, visitors, employees, and their property. You will present a visible security presence to prevent the appearance of criminal opportunity and perform patrols of assigned areas. You will also assist patients, guests, and staff by providing general information and access control.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include presenting a visible security presence, performing patrols, assisting patients and staff, providing access control, investigating complaints, and preparing reports. You will also engage in opportunities for additional education and training in criminal law, first aid, and other relevant topics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years experience in security and/or public law enforcement or military police
• Minimum of two years college course work in criminal justice, security administration or related program, and (3) years experience in security and/or public law enforcement or military police
• Completion of State of Michigan MCOLES certified police academy and (3) years experience in security and/or public law enforcement or military police
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security administration or related area with participation in security or law enforcement through an internship or volunteer work such as police reserve program
• Valid State of Michigan driver’s license
