Role OverviewEnsure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees, and protect and preserve property interests of Cooper University Health Care through security post coverage, monitoring entrances, responding to alarms, and providing escorts when requested.
What You Will Do
Implement safety and security measures during Medical Assistance response, including BRRT response, overdose, and de-escalate violent patient/visitor interactions. Provide weapons detection using walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, and package x-ray machines where applicable.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must possess excellent communication skills and have 1–3 years of security, law enforcement, or customer service related experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet CUHC standard criteria to drive CUHC vehicles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Workplace Violence Prevention Certification
- Narcan Administration
- Stop the Bleed training
- Valid driver’s license
- Current SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) Certification (preferred)
- IAHSS Security BASIC Certification (preferred)
- Current NJ-CPR Certification (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
- Excellent communication skills
