Security Supervisor 3rd Shift

The Security Supervisor will lead and support the team in protecting the Missouri Botanical Garden, a public venue. The role involves overseeing daily security operations, training and mentoring officers, and ensuring all officers perform their responsibilities with integrity and attention to detail. The Supervisor will work closely with the Manager of Security to develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures.

What You Will Do

The Security Supervisor will be responsible for leading and developing staff, overseeing daily security operations, and ensuring safety across Garden events and activities. The role also involves responding to emergencies and accidents, providing first aid/CPR as needed, and ensuring timely completion of all incident and maintenance reports.

Requirements

• Three (3) years' security officer or guard experience required
• Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience preferred
• Working knowledge of safe operation procedures for fire extinguishers, AED, and first aid equipment
• Ability to identify suspicious characters, movements, and dangerous situations
• Proven ability to maintain a calm demeanor when handling routine and crisis situations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively/clearly at all levels
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to obtain security officer's licenses (St. Louis City or County) within 2 months of hire date
• Ability to obtain certifications within 2 months of hire date and renew annually: American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and the Garden's Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
