Role Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining a log of all journal entries and preparing the majority of the journal entries in the general ledger, reconciling all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, calculating and reconciling depreciation of all the fixed assets accounts, preparing bank reconciliation on a monthly basis, training new accountants, and preparing annual work papers for year-end audits. This role is part of the Prime Healthcare corporate team, which operates 54 hospitals and has over 60,000 employees and physicians. The team is seeking a new member to join their corporate team.

What You Will Do

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining a log of all journal entries, preparing the majority of the journal entries in the general ledger, reconciling all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, calculating and reconciling depreciation of all the fixed assets accounts, preparing bank reconciliation on a monthly basis, and training new accountants.

You should also have a working knowledge of windows-based personal computers and be proficient in business software applications. Experience in hospital/healthcare accounting/finance is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • One year of hospital/healthcare accounting/finance experience
  • Proficient in business software applications
  • Working knowledge of windows-based personal computers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and prioritization skills
