Senior Accountant

MOGEL is partnering with a company to hire an organized, analytical, and intellectually curious Senior Accountant. This is a hands-on role for an accounting professional who will play an important part in the company’s core financial operations.

What You Will Do

The Senior Accountant will support and progressively assume ownership of the month-end close, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. The position will also contribute to audit and tax preparation, internal controls, process improvement, reporting initiatives, and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of accounting experience covering the full month-end close cycle.
• Experience gained through a combination of public accounting and private-industry accounting.
• Hands-on experience with the general ledger, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
• Ability to research an unfamiliar accounting question, reach a supportable conclusion, and explain the conclusion clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort learning accounting systems, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an environment with fluid responsibilities, shifting priorities, and assignments that may not arrive with detailed instructions.
• Strong attention to detail that remains consistent under deadline pressure.
• Current residence in the Phoenix metropolitan area or willingness to relocate to the area.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.
