Role Overview

The Senior Advisor, Programs will serve as an advisor and manager for a range of NYC Talent priorities, including leveraging resources to build an integrated, equitable, and efficient workforce system. The role will oversee important programmatic initiatives, support programs funded by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and advise City agencies on workforce best practices.

What You Will Do

Specific tasks may include interacting with senior staff, implementing new programs or policies, reviewing legislation, producing background and position memos, drafting talking points, and supporting interagency collaboration. The position will also supervise a current team of at least two staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 8+ years in government, non-profit sector, education, human resources, or intergovernmental affairs
  • At least three years in a managerial capacity
  • Experience working within workforce development, preferred
  • Knowledge of the NYC labor market and in-demand occupations, preferred
