Role Overview

The New York Times is seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Data and Insights Group (DIG), a large community of talented analysts who partner with various teams across the business. The ideal candidate will be curious and a collaborative team player, with a strong commitment to journalistic independence and a value of contribution to a greater whole.

What You Will Do

The Senior Analyst will formulate data-driven insights, build and maintain centralized reporting dashboards, write SQL, run A/B tests, and advise business stakeholders on areas of opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams, proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases, and strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams
  • 1+ years of experience applying statistical methods to analytical problems
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
  • Proficiency in at least one additional scripting language like R or Python
  • Experience with data visualization and presenting insights from data
