Role Overview

The Senior Analyst, Office of Technology Development Revenue will serve as a core member of OTD's Operations team responsible for effective implementation and maintenance of OTD's information management systems, including Inteum, and successful integrations with other information management systems within Scripps Research. They will collect, organize, and analyze data within each system and work to migrate existing data into a clean and up-to-date format. A core function of this position is to create and maintain dashboards and reporting to support strategic operational priorities for the OTD team.

What You Will Do

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of the execution of the revenue collection and distribution process for OTD, including tracking, collecting, and distributing licensing revenue in accordance with contractual obligations. They will partner with the AR, AP, and GL teams to support invoicing, payment tracking, reconciliation, and training new personnel on the revenue collection and distribution process for OTD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in data science, accounting, or business, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in data wrangling and management.
  • Familiarity with common databases and metadata standards.
  • Understanding of technology licensing contracts and revenue collection and distribution.
  • Understanding of Bayh-Dole Act and how it relates to licensing agreements.
  • Experience with biotechnology contracts and document management systems.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with high attention to organization and detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to select appropriate means of communication in a given situation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
  • Rigorous planning and proactive communication, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and balancing shifting priorities.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access).
