Job Description
The State Personnel System is seeking a Senior Attorney to provide legal services within the Office of the General Counsel of the Department of Corrections. This role involves advising clients on contracts and procurement matters, specializing in education programs for inmates, and representing the Department in legal proceedings. It requires a collaborative approach and keeping abreast of state priorities and current events.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of contracts and state procurement law
  • Knowledge of chapter 120, F.S., and administrative law
  • Knowledge of open government and public records laws
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of jurisprudence
  • Knowledge of Florida laws and legal procedure
  • Knowledge of civil law and rules of procedure
  • Knowledge of Chapters 941-949, and 957, Florida Statutes
  • Ability to recognize and anticipate problems and risks
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities demonstrated on the application
