Senior AV Technician

Innovative Sight & Sound
Any Location, FL
Job Description
Role Overview

The Senior A/V Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and enhancing technology systems in clients' homes and businesses. This is primarily a service-focused position rather than a new-construction installation role. The ideal candidate is an experienced technician who enjoys troubleshooting, can work independently, communicates well with clients, and takes ownership of problems through resolution.

What You Will Do

Diagnose and resolve issues involving audio/video, automation, networking, lighting control, surveillance, security, and motorized shade systems. Perform scheduled service calls, system inspections, and preventive maintenance visits. Troubleshoot system performance through both on-site and remote diagnostic tools.

Why It Might Be a Fit

A calm, methodical approach to troubleshooting, strong communication and customer-service skills, patience when working with clients who may be frustrated or unfamiliar with technology, and the ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in residential A/V, automation, low-voltage, networking, or related technology systems
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of audio/video signal flow and system infrastructure
  • Experience servicing equipment racks, displays, projectors, speakers, amplifiers, receivers, streaming devices, and control interfaces
  • Working knowledge of residential networks, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and connected devices
  • Experience with Control4, Lutron, OvrC, surveillance, security, or motorized shade systems is strongly preferred
  • Ability to perform equipment replacements, system upgrades, and smaller retrofit installations
  • Ability to use testing equipment, manufacturer resources, and remote-support tools effectively
  • Knowledge of low-voltage cabling, terminations, and installation standards
  • Ability to safely work on ladders and move or install equipment when required

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Group health insurance and subsidized dental and vision plans
  • 401(k) match
  • Paid time off
  • Company-provided iPhone
  • Ongoing manufacturer and technical training
