Senior Backend Developer

The Senior Backend Developer designs, develops, tests, and deploys scalable web applications and enterprise solutions. You will build and maintain applications using Python, React.js, Java/Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, and AWS services while collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams.

Design, develop, and implement Python-based enterprise solutions, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable web applications and services, and collaborate as a member of a cross-functional Agile team to deliver software solutions aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be willing to work a HYRBID Schedule (1-2 Days) in Reston, VA & client locations in the Washington D.C. area as required.
• Ability to pass a 7-year background check and obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Clearance

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience using Python.
• 5+ years of hands-on frontend development experience using React.js.
• Hands-on experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and developing microservices-based architectures.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, and RDS.
• Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Experience using JIRA for project and task management.
• Proficiency in creating accurate estimates for assigned tasks and work efforts.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, database design, and data modeling.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with non-technical client stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, review, validation, and development workflow optimization.
