Role Overview

Lead the design, qualification, and lifecycle sustainment of lithium-ion battery systems for WHOOP's advanced wearable technology. Drive innovation in cell design and integration to support long-lasting, compact energy systems that meet WHOOP's demanding performance standards.

What You Will Do

Design, qualify, and sustain lithium-ion battery systems. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, reliability, and quality engineers to optimize battery system performance. Evaluate and qualify battery suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or foreign degree equivalent)
  • 5 years of experience with battery system design, failure analysis, or sustaining engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience with Lithium-Ion Cell design and battery chemistry
  • At least 2 years of experience leading cross-functional engineering projects and communicating complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders
  • At least 2 years of experience using Python or similar scripting tools for test data analysis and visualization
  • At least 2 years of experience with machine learning methods and data science tools for battery predictive modeling
  • At least 2 years of experience with running battery test equipment (Arbin or Maccor) and battery test fixture/DOE development
