Role Overview

In the role of Senior Benefits Specialist, we'll count on you to administer leave of absences, ensure compliance with state and federal leave laws, process payments, and answer benefit-related questions. You will also mentor and educate benefit team members, develop presentations, and act as a liaison between insurance carriers and employees. Additionally, you will assist in administering Canada benefit programs, process various insurance carrier monthly invoices, and conduct monthly and quarterly audits.

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include administering leave of absences, ensuring compliance with state and federal leave laws, processing payments, and answering benefit-related questions. You will also be responsible for mentoring and educating benefit team members, developing presentations, and acting as a liaison between insurance carriers and employees.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of related benefits experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn and utilize company information management systems
  • Project and team management/leadership skills and experience
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and judge proposals relating to benefit programs and knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs
