Role Overview

The Budget Analyst IV performs advanced (senior-level) budget preparation and analysis work, overseeing the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of budgetary activities and performance measures. The role involves working under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The position is located in the Business Operations Division of the Texas Workforce Commission.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include preparing Division and Department budgets, preparing budgetary and management reports, coordinating budget procedures, and providing or confirming budget coding and approving purchase requisitions. The role also involves informing management of budget deviations, problems, and events likely to affect operations.

Requirements

  • Four years of full-time experience in budget preparation, accounting, auditing, financial planning or management, or positions which provided knowledge of public sector budgetary controls, administrative procedures, and related state and federal regulatory laws.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
