Role Overview

The Senior Budget Manager provides leadership, planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of the annual district budgets and oversees the treasury functions. This role is considered essential personnel during an emergency and can be subject to being held over or called back to a district location at all times.

What You Will Do

The incumbent will direct the preparation of revenue and appropriations forecasts for schools, departments, categorical programs, system-wide, and district-wide cost centers for the district's annual operating budget. They will also participate in the budget public hearings and manage the district's fund balance and financial condition ratio to ensure fiscal resilience.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, with a CPA or master's degree preferred. They will have seven years of accounting, finance, or budget experience, including three years in a supervisory position. The candidate will also have experience in a school district or other governmental agency using governmental accounting and the ability to interpret and enforce school board and administrative rules.
