Role OverviewAs a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer at HDR, you will lead the work of the mechanical design team, write and edit mechanical specifications, and review mechanical documents. You will work on complex design challenges, optimize energy efficiency, and integrate resilient systems. You will be part of a team that brings together mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering experts to solve complex design challenges.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading project phases, writing and editing mechanical specifications, reviewing mechanical documents, and performing psychrometric calculations. You will also develop sections and elevations for complex ductwork and piping areas, coordinate HVAC system control requirements, and visit project sites to verify existing conditions.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of 10 years in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination and project management experience
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
