Senior Cardiac Pacer-ICD Technician

Works under the supervision of cardiology physicians and reports directly to the Nurse Manager or Regional Manager. Must be able to identify arrhythmias and respond per department guidelines. Interrogates implantable cardiac devices, performs remote monitoring, and provides device-related education to patients.

What You Will Do

Interrogates implantable cardiac devices, performs remote monitoring, and provides device-related education to patients. Performs post-operative wound checks and reports any abnormalities to the practitioner.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years' experience interrogating devices
• Experience with one or more of the following: PaceArt, Optival, Biotronic, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and St. Jude programming required
• Meet the specific competency requirements for Senior Cardiac Pacer-ICD Technician
• Must pass the initial arrhythmia course with 90% accuracy within 90 days of employment and maintain a 90% passing rate with yearly credentialing
• Must obtain Pacemaker/ICD programming certification within 12 months of hire
