Job Description
The Senior Career Counselor - School of Law will shape the future of WashU Law students by directing personalized career strategies and developing initiatives to ensure their success in prestigious legal fields.
Requirements
Partner with students to develop custom job search strategies, set measurable goals, and align with their aspirations.
Review and edit legal writing samples, resumes, cover letters, and professional communications to help them stand out to top legal employers.
Educate students about diverse legal career paths and help them secure long-term positions that match their goals.
Utilize cutting-edge software and databases to track employment data and provide informed strategic advice.
Offer creative, tailored guidance to promote their success with prestigious employers in large law firms, the public sector, and various practice areas.
Create, implement, and supervise large-scale initiatives to positively affect the core metrics and goals of the office.
Enhance hiring opportunities by key employers through engagement with attorneys and hiring partners at top law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations, federal and state courts, and more.
Develop and implement a strategic outreach plan with clear, measurable objectives.
Collaborate with the Advancement Office to optimize engagement efforts.
Utilize data-driven strategies to maximize outreach success and track progress.
Teach a combination of for-credit courses, e.g., externships, and non-credit workshops that foster practical skills and professional growth, preparing students for successful legal careers.
Research and stay current on the legal market's needs and expectations.
Create and report clear metrics and data to assess student progress and program success.
