Senior Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) Engineer

Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced subject matter expert to research and develop Chemical Vapor Infiltration (CVI) processes to reduce costs and cycle time, and extend the life of carbon and ceramic composite brakes for commercial and military aircraft. The successful candidate will manage large projects, define and implement new projects, and develop a deep understanding of CVI equipment, process, and product interrelationships.

What You Will Do

Define, develop, and characterize new and existing CVI processes, manage multiple R&D projects, and perform production investigations as needed. The successful candidate will also communicate and make technical presentations to senior-level leadership.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience with process equipment such as control systems, valves, piping, instrumentation, pumps, and vacuum and heating systems for high temperature furnaces.
• Experience conducting tests on materials and other substances to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
• Experience writing technical reports that detail methods and findings.
