Senior Construction Inspector

As a Senior Construction Inspector at HDR, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, maintaining accurate daily records, and reviewing construction materials for contract compliance. You will work closely with clients and communities to design sustainable, cost-effective systems that contribute to cleaner environments and healthier communities. This role requires a strong understanding of construction schedules, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.

What You Will Do

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications, maintaining accurate daily records, reviewing construction materials for contract compliance, tracking quantities and developing pay estimates, attending construction progress meetings, and conducting observations of installation and acceptance testing.

Requirements

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
• Ability to interpret construction schedules
• Ability to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineer
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experience
• A minimum of 20 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projects
• Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction
• Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be computer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packages
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have vertical and civil construction experience specific to wastewater projects.
• Must have knowledge of rebar and concrete placement.
• Must have knowledge of the process and chemicals used in the treatment of wastewater material.
