Role Overview

The selected candidate will serve as one of the engineering team leads with a focus on Bus Stop Accessibility and Bus Priority Projects. The selected candidate will supervise, direct, and assign projects to a team of Assistant Civil Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction Project Managers who manage the construction of multiple Street Improvement Projects and over 2000 citywide upgrades of pedestrian ramps annually to comply with ADA specifications.

What You Will Do

Candidate will lead and attend various site studies for in-house constructability of concrete bus pads, islands, medians, neckdowns, ped ramps, etc. as well as direct and lead inspections for repairs of bus pads, curbs, sidewalks, ped-ramps, ped islands, cobblestone, and step streets. Candidate will engage in the conduct of complex structural investigations of retaining walls, drainage condition assessment and remediation, bridge / utility vault condition assessment in relation to excavation activities nearby.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Candidate will supervise the operation and maintenance of concrete structures (i.e. sidewalk, curb, ped ramps, concrete islands) and the preparation of recommendations for alterations or repairs. Candidate will survey and direct the repair of damages to sidewalk vault structures.

Requirements

  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization
  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting one or more construction projects which must have a total cost of at least $300,000 for each of the five years of the required experience
  • A valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect, issued by a board of examining engineers, architects, or landscape architects duly established and qualified pursuant to the laws of any state or territory of the United States
  • A combination of at least two years of experience as described above and the education as described in "2" above to equal a total of five years of education and experience
