Job Description
Role Overview

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer at HDR, you will be responsible for leading control systems design teams, developing biddable and technically accurate control system construction documents, and coordinating with clients and multidiscipline teams to deliver full-service control systems solutions. You will also be responsible for supervising and developing a small staff of professionals and technicians, and providing construction contract administration as needed.

What You Will Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include planning and designing control systems, coordinating workload, reviewing electrical documents, writing and editing instrumentation and controls specifications, and selecting equipment and monitoring/control devices. You will also be responsible for developing sequence of operations, creating control system drawings, and conducting system testing and commissioning activities.

Why It Might Be a Fit

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10 years of experience designing control systems, including schematics and loops. You should have a strong understanding of automation hardware, HMI software, and industrial network equipment. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have a Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • A minimum of 10 years applicable experience
