Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Manager and/or Quantity Surveyor to act as the key day-to-day client interface, delivering cost management services across a large-scale data center program. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be comfortable operating in a client-facing role, and have experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects of moderate to high complexity.

Requirements

  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Providing cost planning and estimating, including producing and presenting final cost plans.
  • Reviewing and participating with the design team and general contractor in developing cost estimates.
  • Communicating with the general contractor and project team to gather updates and support cost reporting.
  • Preparing written comments on contractor submissions, including executive summaries.
  • Coordinating cost inputs from subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams.
  • Informing and helping drive construction priorities based on cost impact.
  • Working proactively to resolve cost and scheduling challenges.
  • Managing cost checks and carrying out valuations on complex projects.
  • Supporting post-contract cost variance and change control processes.
  • Tracking cost impacts, contingency usage, and commitment logs across phases.
  • Preparing funding updates and support value engineering sessions.
  • Developing cost plans through design and providing updates at key milestones.
  • Reviewing contractor pricing and supporting negotiations to ensure fair outcomes.
  • Performing quantity surveying, cost control, and change management activities.
  • Ensuring cost auditing, validation, and reporting processes are applied consistently.
  • Producing monthly cost reports and supporting final account closeout.
  • Maintaining cost benchmarking data and project records.
  • Mentoring team members and supporting overall team performance.
  • Managing financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting for commissions.
  • Supporting internal systems, governance processes, and best practices.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
