Role OverviewThe Senior Counsel will serve as a senior member of the litigation practice, handling complex matters while providing management, mentoring, and strategic oversight within the practice area. This role requires significant independent judgment, leadership capability, and a commitment to developing attorneys and staff while delivering high-quality legal services to clients.
What You Will Do
Draft original motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents in complex matters. Prepare and respond to written discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses exchanged with multiple parties. Develop and advance case defenses, litigation strategy, and trial themes with a high degree of autonomy.

Requirements
- Minimum of 7–10 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active admission to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
- Substantial litigation experience in one or more of the following areas: environmental law, commercial litigation, product liability, construction litigation, insurance defense, business litigation, or other complex risk management matters
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop junior attorneys and support staff
- Strong people-management skills, including experience delegating work, managing workloads, and providing constructive feedback
- Proven client service orientation with experience managing client relationships
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while exercising sound professional judgment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Filevine or other document management systems preferred
