Senior Data Center Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Data Center Mechanical Engineer at Switch, you will be part of a world-class team that operates in excellence, delivering mission-critical solutions that redefine what's possible in AI, cloud, and enterprise data center needs. In this role, you will support and optimize the operations of the critical infrastructure supporting IT loads in Switch Data Centers, including power, water, and cooling systems.

What You Will Do

Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Actions (CA) documentation for equipment failures, including electrical critical systems. Directly support operational teams as the subject matter expert for issue resolution, event response, and complex procedural review, including ad-hoc training and critical equipment support.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or higher with a certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• An understanding of electrical and mechanical systems that may be employed in a data center environment.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, Sequence of Operations, submittals, and MEP drawings packages.
• Strong Outlook, Publisher, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
• An understanding of data analysis methodologies, statistical techniques, and business acumen.
• Ability to analyze and implement solutions for problem resolution.
• Leadership skills that promote team development and support the Switch Culture.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution.
