Role OverviewThe Senior Database Administrator - Oracle will maintain multiple Oracle home directories in a multiplatform environment, direct installs of the latest releases of Oracle DBMS Software, and create and maintain Perl and UNIX shell scripts that monitor Oracle databases. The role requires a strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include maintaining Oracle databases, running restores and ad-hoc backups, verifying daily, weekly, and archival backup integrity, and working with management and system personnel to provide backup configuration. The role also involves advising the engineering group in database and supporting system architecture, defining specialized aspects of user's database administrator documentation, and performing detailed comparisons of various database systems.
