Role Overview

The Control & Integration (C&I) Department at National Grid supports the Substation, Transmission and Distribution departments with capital project engineering and design. We support multiple projects by engineering SCADA solutions and network designs for system devices to communicate with each other and communicate with our transmission and regional operation control centers.

What You Will Do

As a senior engineer, you will lead the engineering, design, integration, and support of substation control, metering, instrumentation, SCADA, and communication systems for transmission and distribution projects. You will also develop and maintain digital substation architectures, communication topologies, network configurations, and data flow mappings to ensure reliable and secure system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Familiarity with common utility communication standards and protocols
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP, UDP, and Ethernet protocols
  • Knowledge of utility 3-phase AC systems and DC systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Valid driver's license
