Role OverviewAs a Senior Electrical Engineer at HDR, you will be part of the Building Engineering Services Group, helping design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to solve complex design challenges with precision, creativity, and collaboration.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include coordinating the work of Electrical Engineers, establishing client relations, participating in design and production meetings, and conducting schematic and design development work sessions. You will also track financial aspects of projects and coordinate workload to ensure timely completion.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong computer knowledge of REVIT and electrical system design software, as well as experience with generator sizing and photometric calculation software. You will also need to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings and a professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
- Strong computer knowledge of REVIT; electrical system design software such as SKM, EasyPower or ETAP for power studies and calculations
- Experience with generator sizing and photometric calculation software
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- A minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems);
- Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software
