Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing project teams in the planning, design, and construction of capital improvement projects for Milwaukee County. Manage projects and provide subject matter expertise in the fields of electrical engineering and electrical systems related to public infrastructure. Provide exceptional customer service.

What You Will Do

Act as project manager, team leader, and participate as a member in project teams, charged with the control of all aspects of projects including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Prepare technical studies, reports, estimates, preliminary and final designs, hire consultants and let and execute construction contracts.

Must have thorough knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of electrical engineering. Familiarity with theories, principles, and practices of construction. Ability to prepare analytical engineering reports on complex public works projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a current resident of the State of Wisconsin.
  • Valid Driver’s License and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ of Professional Electrical Engineering, Project Management or similar experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
