Role Overview

The Senior Engineer, Agency Planning and Implementation will work within the Division of Energy Management's Operations Unit, overseeing energy efficiency project development, supporting agency energy master planning and project prioritization, and supporting internal process improvements. The role requires close coordination with agency partners, DEM programs, and technical entities. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for synthesizing data, resolving project scopes and objectives, and developing decarbonization plans and electrification feasibilities. The role also involves supporting internal process improvements, performing technical calculations and analysis, and overseeing the upkeep and integrity of internal databases and processes.

What You Will Do

The Senior Engineer will oversee energy efficiency project development, support agency energy master planning and project prioritization, and support internal process improvements. They will work collaboratively to build training and knowledge management within the Agency Planning and Implementation team, including supporting training and exchange of information and building proficiency in energy efficiency technologies. The role also involves performing technical calculations and analysis, utilizing and reviewing existing tools, and developing additional methods and performance enhancements to existing processes.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in architecture or architectural technology; biology; building science; chemistry; construction management; energy management; engineering, engineering technology; environmental science; facilities management; physics; or a related field
  • Completion of an apprentice program, a minimum of two (2) years in length, in a construction trade with an emphasis on energy efficiency for buildings and two (2) years of satisfactory, full-time experience in energy generation or conservation work
  • Four (4) years of satisfactory, full-time experience in energy generation or conservation work
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above requirements
