Senior Engineer II

Join the Cornerstone Platform Engineering organization within HexDigital Technologies as a Senior Engineer II. This role is part of the core Platform Engineering Team, leading and driving multiple platform initiatives. The team focuses on enabling real-time insights and analytics, stream processing, and compute, real-time events and triggers, APIs, and microservices.

What You Will Do

Write code and unit tests, work with Bigdata/API specs and automation, identify opportunities for adopting new technologies, and lead a team of engineers delivering knowledge management solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Hands on experience – Java/Python/Spark
• Demonstrated experience in large scale data transformation and messaging platform such as Kafka
• Experience with Streaming API
• Demonstrated substantial experience with object-oriented design and programming (Java preferred)
• Demonstrated experience with test driven development methodoloty
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MapR-DB(HBase), Solr, Redis, Elastic Search, Couchbase etc.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs for high volume clients
• Substantial experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods
• Demonstrated experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
• Demonstrated experience with automated build and test frameworks
• Experience with container technology, such as Docker, a plus
• Experience with software development and collaboration tools (Bitbucket JIRA, Confluence, etc.), a plus
• Experience with Git a plus
• A proven hunger to learn new technologies and translate them into working software
• Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external business partners on solution design
• Knowledge of payments industry is a plus
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Strong work ethic with good time management with ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings
• Experience collaborating with the business to drive requirements/Agile story analysis
• Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges, and articulate solutions
