Role Overview

As a Senior Environmental Planner at HDR, you will direct environmental and land use permit preparation and acquisition on projects, including identification of permitting triggers, acquisition strategy, permitting risks, etc. You will work side-by-side with industry-recognized engineers and scientists to contribute to reliable, resilient, and sustainable power systems, helping communities thrive and industries expand.

What You Will Do

Direct environmental and land use permit preparation and acquisition on projects, including local land use permits, local development permits, SEPA compliance, Clean Water Act/Rivers and Harbors Act Permitting, and WDFW Hydraulic Project Approvals. Independently coordinate with clients, technical project staff, and agency reviewers from project initiation to project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field
  • A minimum of 10 years technical and/or field experience in complex environmental planning projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving, and research abilities
  • Technical and/or field experience dealing with environmental impact issues, associated permit processes, and documentation preparation/review
