Role Overview

As a Sr. Equipment Engineer – EPI, you will improve tool performance and availability for diffusion, thin film, lithography or etching equipment in a clean room environment. You will oversee the installation and qualification of new tool sets according to planned schedules, to add capacity in a timely manner.

What You Will Do

Solve critical equipment issues, improving tool uptime availability and utilization efficiency. Manage opportunities for hardware capability enhancement, driving defect reduction. Install and qualify new tool sets for the 5-nanometer or beyond equipment according to planned schedules and meet the process released standard.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in an engineering role
  • 1 year of experience with semiconductor manufacturing principles, practices and techniques as they relate to equipment engineering and maintenance
  • 1 year of experience with 5nm technology or beyond in logic chip semiconductor industry
  • 1 year of experience in at least 1 of the following: EPI; ALD; lithography; CVD; RTP; dry etching; or wet cleaning processing
  • 1 year of experience in each of the following tool models or approaches: AMAT DUAL CENTURA ACP/ASM Intrepid tool model and the required facility utilities; Hardware actions to improve thickness profile; Performing regular maintenance, including lamp/process kit replacement, on the AMAT DUAL CENTURA ACP/ASM Intrepid; Performing high risk actions, including throttle valve and Mass Flow Controller replacement, on the AMAT DUAL CENTURA ACP/ASM Intrepid tool; and Calibrating temperature, robot transfer positions, Mass Flow Controller, and pressure gauge
  • Education or experience in at least 2 of the following: mechanical component design; tooling design; or machine design
  • Education or experience in at least 2 of the following software: Creo 3D CAD; Pro-E; AutoCAD; MATLAB; COMSOL; or Solidworks
