Job Description
HDR has an opening for a Senior FERC Regulatory Specialist to join our Northern California team and be a part of our national hydropower practice that ENR ranks Number 2 in the Top 10 firms providing services to owners and operators of hydropower plants for 2024. The position involves a leadership role on multiple FERC regulatory projects, with diverse clients and project teams.

Requirements

  • Responsible for all aspects of medium to large multidisciplinary FERC regulatory projects
  • Direct and coordinate work of multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle
  • Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, regulatory documents, and similar reports/documents related to FERC processes and associated regulatory frameworks
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, and technical meetings
  • Present project work in client meetings, board meetings, agency/stakeholder meetings, and possibly at technical conferences
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Act as mentor for less-experienced FERC regulatory staff, technical staff, and Project Manager
