POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN CENTRAL-SOUTHERN FLORIDA OR THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AREA OF THE UNITED STATES


The Senior Financial Planner partners with high-balance participants (active and retired) to identify their financial goals, analyze their financial needs and develop recommendations that will help them work towards well defined financial objectives. The Financial Planner manages a practice of clients remotely focused on providing best in class financial planning and guidance.


Essential Functions for this role include:



  • Develop a trusted-planner and participant relationship for MissionSquare ensuring an outstanding experience as measured by participant survey scores.

  • Educate participants about the benefits of an ongoing relationship with MissionSquare through presentations, events, and individual consultations.

  • Providing either virtual (primarily) and in-person engagements with participants.

  • Virtual engagements are face-to-face via video conferencing (Teams/Zoom), and collaborating within our financial planning platform, MoneyGuide, via our client portal (HUB).

  • In-person engagements include group presentations and individual consultations at plan sponsors and territory events throughout the year.


    • Follow the Financial Planning process as found in the CFP® Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct and applied by our program.

    • Present group educational sessions both virtually (webinars) and in-person (onsite or offsite seminars and events).

    • As needed, attend industry conferences, firm-hosted conferences, and events as supported by the firm.


    If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:



    • FINRA Series 7 and 63 – required.

    • Resident life insurance licenses – preferred or willing to obtain in the future (as necessary).

    • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)

    • Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA) - preferred


    • 3+ years of Financial Planning industry experience as a CFP® professional is preferred; including effective communication skills to help develop and nurture client relationships. 



    • Results driven, highly motivated self-starter who possesses integrity, a strong work ethic, and a passion for helping participants plan for their financial goals and objectives

    • Ability listen to clients’ needs and make decisions/take actions that help participants/retirees achieve their long-term goals

    • Knows how to follow the proper risk, supervision and controls guidelines to deliver the best outcomes for participants/retirees

    • Self-directed and continuous learner

    • Client Relationship Management mastery

    • Exceptional investment acumen and knowledge of broader financial planning topics

    • Extensive client service experience; managing an ongoing book of business

    • Able to adjust style of communication to best connect with others

    • Industry expertise in 457(b), 401(a), 403(b), IRA’s and other qualified retirement plans

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
