Senior Grants and Contracts Manager

The Senior Grants and Contracts Manager will support innovative research in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Harvard University. The role will manage the financial portfolio for a given subset of faculty members, working in close partnership with faculty members to ensure that applications meet all university, school, and sponsor requirements.

What You Will Do

The Senior Grants and Contracts Manager will be responsible for grant preparation, budget development, application form submission, responding to sponsor requests, creating budget reconciliation and forecasting reports, reviewing and approving expenditures, ensuring compliance with requirements, and submitting payroll changes for faculty and staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in pre- and post-award management
• 3+ years of experience in pre- and post-award management experience (both federal and non-federal)
• Bachelor’s degree, and/or Certified Research Administrator (CRA)
• Experience with research administration management & submission systems
• Experience in an academic, hospital, research or related environment
• Experience working with research faculty on grants and contracts
• Experience managing training grants, complex awards and working with a variety of sponsors
• Advanced working knowledge of research compliance issues & of key federal grant regulations
• Experience working with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Understanding of human subject use, animal use and other research compliance areas
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Willingness to be flexible and work well with different teams/people
