Role Overview

The Senior High School Counselor is responsible for providing guidance and counseling services to students, staff, and patrons. The Counselor will design and implement a building program that provides growth opportunities for all students, provide individual and group counseling, and serve as a resource for support and consultation.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Senior High School Counselor include designing and implementing a building program, providing individual and group counseling, and serving as a resource for support and consultation. The Counselor will also provide consultation and counseling for teachers and parents, assist with College Career Coordinators, and participate in the Child Study Team.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in School Counseling, or be pursuing a Master's Degree in School Counseling and deemed eligible for a Provisional School Counselor License. The candidate should have a strong ability to communicate effectively, proficient organizational and planning skills, and good knowledge of guidance counseling and career education methods.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in School Counseling
  • KSDE issued School Counselor License
  • Provisional School Counselor License (if pursuing a Master's Degree)
