Role OverviewAs an In-House Litigator, you'll represent the business and serve as a trusted legal advisor, delivering expert guidance that helps us achieve our goals, manage risk, and operate with confidence and compliance. Your work will directly influence how we navigate complex challenges and deliver energy responsibly for all.
What You Will Do
Provide advice and counsel to various business units regarding state and federal laws and on various litigation-related issues, oversee litigated matters and internal investigations, negotiate and prepare settlement agreements, provide training to various business units, respond to subpoenas and other requests for information from third-parties, and advise on any potential legal issues.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You'll work collaboratively with various business units, in-house lawyers, and outside counsel, and have experience in representing clients in all types of litigation, including claims/tort contractual disputes, insurance coverage, real estate, class actions, and regulatory issues.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited college or university
- Member of the New York Bar
- 5-10 years of tort litigation experience
- Experience in representing clients in all types of litigation
- Experience with internal investigations and government investigations and subpoenas
- Experience with electronic discovery
- Experience with settlement negotiations, mediation, and arbitration
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization
Benefits
- Salary: $222k - $250k a year
