Job Description
The New York City Department of Buildings is seeking a Senior Investigator to join its Buildings Special Investigations Unit (BSIU) to investigate construction accidents, unsafe conditions, and serious DOB violations.

Requirements

  • Investigate construction accidents, unsafe conditions, and serious DOB violations
  • Conduct in-depth field investigations, including site inspections, interviews, and evidence collection
  • Review permits, inspection histories, construction documents, and contractor records
  • Coordinate investigations with DOB enforcement units, the Department of Investigation, and law enforcement agencies
  • Prepare clear, detailed investigative reports for enforcement actions and legal proceedings
  • Testify at OATH hearings, court proceedings, and other formal venues as required
  • Provide guidance and support to investigative staff, as assigned
