We are actively hiring for a Senior Investment Accountant - Remote!
Your Role:
We are seeking a Senior Investment Accountant to support the accounting and reporting of a diversified investment portfolio including public and private fixed income, global equities, private funds, and non-USD currency exposures. This role is critical in overseeing outsourced investment accounting services, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting accurate financial reporting under GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
Your Work:
Provide daily oversight of outsourced investment accounting provider, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with service level agreements
Review and validate journal entries, reconciliations, valuations, and reports.
Monitor compliance with company accounting policies and statutory/GAAP requirements.
Analyze complex investment transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
Evaluate and apply new accounting guidance.
Ensure adherence to Model Audit Rule controls.
Oversee month-end and quarter-end close.
Oversee statutory filings (NAIC Schedules D, DA, BA) and disclosures.
Serve as key contact for auditors.
Mentor junior staff and lead process improvements.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
6+ years of investment accounting experience (insurance/financial services experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SAP, and NAIC reporting.
Experience with outsourced providers or custodians.
Proficiency in PAM or similar.
Familiarity with SOX/MAR frameworks.
Strong Microsoft Office Excel skills.
Strong analytical and communication skills.

Experience with private funds, alternatives, and multi-currency investments.
Prior involvement in analyzing and applying new accounting standards.
Experience in process automation and system integration.

Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings.

The national average salary range for this position is $99,855.00-$110,950.00. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on work location. The starting pay range for this position across all the states we hire in is $99,855.00-$133,250.00.⯠This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay.
