Role Overview

This Senior Juvenile Probation Officer position is responsible for case management, referrals, recommendations, and assessments. The officer will initiate contact with youth, family, victims, and law enforcement, conduct home and school visits, and use Motivational Interviewing to engage the youth and family. The officer will also obtain and review collateral information, conduct and document FDJJ screenings and assessments, and facilitate the completion of comprehensive assessments.

What You Will Do

The Senior Juvenile Probation Officer will conduct face-to-face contacts with the youth, family, and community, maintain communication based on departmental requirements, and provide technical assistance and conduct case reviews with staff. The officer will also prepare and maintain current social histories, court reports, referral letters, and related correspondence.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have four years of experience working directly with adolescents in the criminal justice or social services field. A valid driver's license is required, and the officer must be certified in accordance with State of Florida Department of Juvenile Justice direct care training policy or obtain such certification within 180 days of employment.
