Job Description
Scotiabank is seeking a Senior Manager of U.S. Credit and Special Accounts Management (SAM). This role involves analyzing and restructuring underperforming U.S. accounts, managing the agency function for bank-sponsored debt and equity, and advising senior executives on credit matters. The role requires in-depth understanding of corporate and commercial banking, strong financial analysis skills, and the ability to manage credit portfolios and regulatory expectations. It also involves providing training and supporting internal audit processes.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Corporate and/or Commercial banking.
  • Superior skills in financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Awareness of differences in the tax, legal and accounting rules of the various jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of a wide variety of industries and markets which require specialized knowledge.
  • General computer knowledge to effective use of various computer software applications.
  • Solid knowledge of insolvency and restructuring matters or a willingness to develop skill.
  • Proven skills with respect to deal negotiation, deal structuring, due diligence and loan documentation.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management, planning and organizing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills.
  • Flexible working hours.
