Role OverviewAs a Senior Mechanical Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing production-ready engineering solutions for new products, leading the technical development of new products, and contributing innovative ideas to drive performance advantages in Bigbelly products. You will work closely with the global manufacturing team, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to bring designs to life with excellence. You will also be responsible for triaging field issues, determining root cause, and implementing solutions.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing production-ready engineering solutions, leading the technical development of new products, contributing innovative ideas, and supporting the Bigbelly Supply Chain Team with vendor selection/qualification, part validation, and cost estimating.

Requirements
- Proficiency using SolidWorks 3D CAD design software
- Proficiency using PDM/PLM tools (SolidWorks and Arena preferred)
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with common shop tools and mechanical assembly techniques
- Proficiency building prototypes to evaluate and test design concepts
- Good problem-solving skills (statistical experiment design experience preferred)
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to be on-site at headquarters in Needham, MA, full-time
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (graduate degree preferred)
- 7+ years of experience developing systems products
